As I sheltered inside from the scalding heat this weekend I found myself growing very bored. To alleviate the bordom I decided to find out what I would look like with a beard and moustache. Unfortunately I only had a red, blue and green pen, so had to opt for finding out what I would look like with a blue moustache, despite the unlikely nature of such an event ever transpiring. Best to be prepared for every eventuality all the same. Here are the results of my experiments:

As you can see I opted for a rather rakish twirly-type moustache with matching goatee. In order to achieve the illusion that I had grown a real blue moustache, rather than just drawing one on my face with a blue marker pen, you'll notice that I twirled one of the ends.
Inspired by this initial success in the field of face drawing, and having watched the suprisingly enjoyable swashbuckle-a-thon that was 'Pirates of the Caribbean' last week, I decided to continue my experiments and see if I could draw myself as a pirate. I quickly analysed the key points that make a pirate and decided that on top of my dashing facial hair, no self-respecting pirate would be caught without a patch and atleast one missing tooth:

Unfortunately the addition of the eyepatch required me to draw on my eye, something which I'm pretty sure the directions on the pen advised directly against. It was at about this point that I began to feel an unpleastant burning sensation in my eye, which probably explains whay I look so unhappy in this picture. However I quickly realised that no salty seadog would wince at a little buring sensation in the eye, especially not if said eye had already been plucked out by the tip of a rusty cutlass. So plunging my fear of pain and permanent blindness to one side I tried for another picture with a more adventurous expression, and the addition of a fetching hook:

ARRRRR! Avarst! And so forth! I feel after looking at this picture I almost certainly have piratical blood flowing through my veins. Weekend well spent.
